Your room: Last year the room was renovated. The room comes with everything (all the equipment) that is needed in order to study. The room includes towels and bedding. Also, the room has a nice view of Utrecht’s city center. Apartment: When you enter the apartment, you will see the spacious living room. The living room has a comfortable seating area, where you can relax and enjoy watching TV (an Apple TV with Netflix, provided by your landlord). On your left you will see the open kitchen area. In here, all the kitchenware and equipment, such as an oven, microwave, fridge and an induction hob, are intended for your use only. On your left, you will find the restroom and bathroom, including a bathtub. In here, washing and drying facilities are available for your use. Location: The apartment is situated in the neighborhood ‘ Transwijk-zuid’, which offers many facilities. Right next to the apartment, there is a park where you are able to not only wander around, but also attend various organized events and activities, such as the ‘Snowball Festival’. The apartment is situated in between two shopping malls, both of which contain supermarkets and cheap Turkish greengrocery bazars and of course several retail stores. Also, the Ikea is just a few blocks away from the apartment. The location is easily accessible by public transport (bus or tram), as it is only a 10minute ride away from the city center (of Utrecht). You could also rapidly reach the center by bike/bicycle, but of course that remains your choice: the more expensive way or the authentic Dutch way. Shared responsibility: We have a shared responsibility regarding the residence’s maintenance. We deliver a clean room with all the furniture you need, therefore we expect you to handle this with care. Once a week, a cleaning service will stop by to take care of the regular cleaning tasks in the common areas. We do this because we are aware of the fact that you are rather busy doing other things in this wonderful country and we want to make sure that we keep up with our high standards inside the residences. However, you do need to take out the garbage, do the dishwashing and maintain your own room. Finance: The price includes: gas, water, electricity, Internet, Netflix (if available), weekly cleaning and city hall taxes. Please be aware there will be a one-time fee of €250 for the entire stay. Check in/out date: as stated in the contract, the rental period starts either on the 1st day of the month or on the 15th (2nd half) of the month. This means that if you, for example, book a room for the 3rd of February onwards, your contract will start on the 1st of February. By all means, the tenant may move in on the starting date of the lease. The monthly rental fee includes (fixed) advance payments for water, gas and electricity charges. If you do not overuse the electricity, then you will not have to pay extra. However, if the consumption of energy is higher than the standard, then you will be responsible for the additional fee. Also, if you choose to pay the rent six months in advance, you will get two weeks for free. Additionally, if you choose to pay the rent one year in advance, you get a whole month for free!
