Rotterdam, June 15 2023 - HousingAnywhere, Europe’s largest mid-to-long-term rental platform, enters cities in the US and the UK. The rental platform extends its footprint to meet the rising demand of internationally-mobile talents, including students and young professionals, seeking a flexible lifestyle.
US market expansion aims to meet a growing demand for furnished mid-to-long term rentals covering both international and interstate mobility as the platform enables people to access flexible housing options easily and safely. The leading rental platform will focus on building a portfolio of available rental properties in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago.
The lift of covid-19 restrictions especially stimulated a fast recovery of international student mobility for these popular destinations. According to the Open Doors report released by the Institute for International Education in the US at the end of the last academic year (2021-2022), the enrollment of international students in the US is now showing a clear rebound with a yearly increase of 3.8%, after a downward trend in the previous years. Despite the growing demand, and as it is also the case in some European cities, highly attractive US cities are witnessing that the lack of residential housing supply could affect the enrolment of students facing challenges to find a place to live. HousingAnywhere has a successful track record of having partnerships with around 300 European universities to help both inbound and outbound students find their new home, and aims to further expand this collaborative approach intercontinentally.
HousingAnywhere is adding to its portfolio London, Manchester and Birmingham, responding to the increasing need for available and accessible rental properties for these key cities. HousingAnywhere data reveals that searches on the platform for an accommodation in London -the first city where the leading rental platform has been building its rental portfolio- have been growing considerably. Searches for an accommodation in London rose by 37.7% in 2022 compared to the previous year, and have continued its growth by 37.9% in the first quarter of 2023.
"Entering the US and the UK was clearly the next step for HousingAnywhere, as we aim to match the rising demand of internationally-mobile students and young professionals in our new active cities. With this expansion, and thanks to the constant innovations to create more easy-to-use and secure digital rental solutions through our platform, now we are enabling people to safely find a new home not only in mainland Europe, but in more corners of the world", says Djordy Seelmann, CEO of HousingAnywhere.
With the expansion, HousingAnywhere is enabling people to find a home in more than 125 cities in the world. With its headquarters based in Rotterdam, HousingAnywhere currently employs 260+ global talents from 47+ different nationalities.
