Your room: Last year the room was renovated. The room is very spacious and comes with everything (all the equipment) that is needed in order to study. The room includes a comfortable, luxurious double box spring bed and also towels and bedding. There is a lock on the door, so you will be able to safely lock the door whenever you go out. Lastly, the room also includes a hand-wash basin. Apartment: The apartment is situated in a large student complex. There are four private rooms. All rooms can be locked as your room will be your private area, while you will share the kitchen and bathroom areas with your flat mates. For extra security, you have an extra fire door to your apartment. Location: The apartment is located right above the shopping center of Utrecht Overvecht. You will find every store you will need when craving for chocolate and wine and of course clothing items. There is also a McDonalds right outside the complex. Also, you will be able to reach the city center in 15 minutes, it is a 15min bike ride to Utrecht University and it is a 20 minutes bus or bike ride to Utrecht Central Station. Shared responsibility: We have a shared responsibility regarding the residence’s maintenance. We deliver a clean room with all the furniture you need, therefore we expect you to handle this with care. Once a week, a cleaning service will stop by to take care of the regular cleaning tasks in the common areas. We do this because we are aware of the fact that you are rather busy doing other things in this wonderful country and we want to make sure that we keep up with our high standards inside the residences. However, you do need to take out the garbage, do the dishwashing and maintain your own room. Finance: The price includes: gas, water, electricity, Internet, Netflix (if available), weekly cleaning and city hall taxes. Please be aware there will be a one-time fee of €250 for the entire stay. Check in/out date: as stated in the contract, the rental period starts either on the 1st day of the month or on the 15th (2nd half) of the month. This means that if you, for example, book a room for the 3rd of February onwards, your contract will start on the 1st of February. By all means, the tenant may move in on the starting date of the lease. The monthly rental fee includes (fixed) advance payments for water, gas and electricity charges. If you do not overuse the electricity, then you will not have to pay extra. However, if the consumption of energy is higher than the standard, then you will be responsible for the additional fee. Also, if you choose to pay the rent six months in advance, you will get two weeks for free. Additionally, if you choose to pay the rent one year in advance, you get a whole month for free!
